ROLES IN BASKETBALL ( Players)

Traditionally, basketball has 5 specific positions on the court.

Two guards, two forwards, and a center.

1. Point guard
2. Firing guard
3. Small forward
4. Power forward
5. Center

Each of these basketball positions has their own places and liabilities.
numerous times ago , the players who filled these positions would stick solely to their part and avoid doing anything that was outside their position.

The center and power forward would dominate 90 of the rebounding but veritably infrequently tittle the basketball. The guards would tittle the basketball up and down the court but veritably infrequently would they enter the crucial area.

While basketball has advanced a lot in recent times, the players who fill these basketball positions still have specific liabilities

The 7 Basketball Positions Explained
1. Point guard

The point guardalso known as the bottom general or the’ bone ‘) is frequently one of the shortest players on the platoon and is responsible for advancing the basketball up the court and setting up the platoon’s offense.

This requires the point guard to be largely professed at dribbling and passing while infrequently turning the basketball over to the opposition.

Once the offense has been set up, the point guard must be able to read what the defense is doing and make smart decisions. A high level of basketball IQ is crucial for this position which is why the point guard is often referred to as the on-court coach.

This requires crystal clear knowledge of the playbook as well as understanding their teammate’s strengths and weaknesses.
