Lyrics for my life belongs to you. On November 30, 1974, Samson Uche Mogekwu was born in the southern Nigerian state of Delta State. In high school, he started singing and adopted the moniker Samsong. He majored in accounting at Ambrose Alli University in Ekpoma, Edo State. Samsong formed Praise Creation, a foursome. Best of Life, their debut album, was released in 1996 after they signed with Ivory Music Label. After the trio disbanded, Samsong went solo and released his first album, Count Your Blessings, in 2002. That same year, The Psalmist Award went to the record.

2004 saw the release of his second album, Still Counting. In 2004, he took home the Today’s Music Award’s “Best Male Vocalist of the Year” title; in 2005, he received the Amen Awards’ “Best Male Vocalist of the Year” title. He won “Best Video of the Year” at the 2005 Vigoma Awards. In 2007, he released his third album, The World of My Dreams, which included a duet performance of the popular hit song “One Love” by Onyeka Onwenu. Additionally, the CD included a duet called “Live Right” with Styl-Plus. In the same year, he received the Grace Honorary Award for Excellence.

Summary
He received a nomination for “Best Gospel Artist” at the 2008 Nigerian Entertainment Awards (NEA) in New York City. To promote his album, he set off on a global tour that included stops in Germany, the UK, and South Africa. He recorded and performed in Germany with Chris Lass, a German gospel producer. August 2009 was the date of his most recent headline tour. Vice President Joseph Belmont welcomed him to the island of Seychelles on his tour.
