Lyrics for Adonai. On August 27, 1981, Bassey was born in Lagos, Nigeria. His birthplace is Ikot Ofon Ikono in the Uyo local government area of Akwa-Ibom state in south-south Nigeria. His father, Mr. E. Joshua Bassey, served as a priest in the Bashua Assembly of the Apostolic Church. He attended the University of Lagos to study politics and international relations before relocating to London to continue his studies. On the other hand, he attended the Middlesex University Summer School to study music. Sarah Bassey and Nathaniel Bassey are wed.
