The minister of interior stated that the automation of passports starts January 8.
Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the current minister of interior made this announcement during a recent inspection of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) facilities alongside Comptroller General Wura-Ola
“I’m commitment to deliver on President Ahmed Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda, I will streamline the process and ensure a “sweet experience” for applicants.
“We are starting the training and on January 8, the solution will be live and direct for Nigerians to have a good feel, a sweet experience based on the Renewed Hope of Mr. President,”
“We have been able to reduce human contact in passport acquisition to the minimum”
He said, adding that the new initiative allow all applicants to upload their passport photographs, other documents at their own comfort.
