Indoor air quality, Ventilation is the process of bringing outside air into a building, moving it around the room, and removing stagnant air in order to improve the quality of the indoor air. This can be achieved by natural means, mechanical means, or both. The term indoor air quality (IAQ) describes the air inside buildings and structures. It can be contaminated by radon, molds, pet dander, chemicals from household items, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), smoking particulate matter, and bugs, all of which can have a negative impact on one’s health.
